Good question. I’m interested to hear what everyone else has come up with, and especially what the experts say. When feeling drained on patrol or during grueling land nav sessions, I would take a swig from the canteen in which I had accumulated all my salts, sugars, cerasports, and MRE sugary drink mixes. When I can get it, fresh fruit is good to restore energy quickly. I especially like bananas because they’re easy to eat. After fresh fruit, ideally, I get some fat and protein.

Myself, I train and compete in Submission grappling as well as weightlifting (Olympic) as well as CrossFit style conditioning as I am active LEO, I stay primed throughout the day by staying hydrated as well as adding a teaspoon of Himalayan Pink salt in with water periodically to maintain that electrolyte
    post lifting/conditioning protocol is such:
    12oz of water
    1500mg BCAA
20gm fruictose (usually from fresh orange)
    30gm dextrose
    100mg caffeine
    Teaspoon pink salt

30min later a protein fat meal or quality protein shake with MCT or coconut oil
